The importance of using high quality engine oil
The main purpose of oil in your engine is to keep all internal engine components lubricated and prevent friction. Oil will naturally lose its viscosity over time and it is imperative that it is changed along with your oil filter on a regular basis even if you only drive a small amount of mileage between recommended service intervals.
Your vehicle's engine is the most important and often the most expensive element of your vehicle's drivetrain and modern cars today MUST have the correct grade of engine oil.
Not only that but high quality engine oil should be used which is what we use here at the garage. Using the incorrect grade or low quality engine oil in your engine can have catastrophic consequences for your engine either in the short or long term and render your vehicle useless should your engine fail. Not only that but you may have to spend thousands of pounds to either repair or replace your engine.
The correct oil level is imperative when replacing or adding oil to an engine...a fact which is often unknown to many is that having too much oil in your engine can be as catastrophic as having too little or no oil!
